Peter Molyneux, designer of the popular Fable game series, has a hit with his new mobile game Godus. Godus is part of a new genre essentially created by Molyneux known as “God Games.” In his latest iteration gamers start the game as an all powerful god who is responsible for saving two villagers from drowning.
“Peter Molyneux is the pioneer of developing immersive god games, and Godus is a direct reflection of his passion and creativity,” says Barry Dorf, VP of partnerships and alliances at DeN
Originally released on May 15, 2014 the game has underwent significant updates and was re-released as version 1.2 on the iPhone, iPod, and iPad on August 07, 2014. After it’s August update the game has shot it’s way up the iTunes game charts. On the first day of the version 1.2 release Godus charted initially at 26th overall in the iTunes store and over the next 3 days made it’s way to the number 1 overall game and the 2nd highest overall application oniTunes.
“Godus is a game unlike any other.” says Mitch Grimmy, Founder of the Godus Cheats Blog. “The game is really a testament to the growth of mobile gaming. A few years ago games of this quality and magnitude were only found on next gen consoles and PC’s. Today people like Peter Molyneux are bringing this level of quality to mobile devices. It’s an exciting time to be a gamer.”
Godus is a creative twist on the regular time and resource management game genre. Godus starts the player off in a world where they are able to control everything from the lay of the and to the direction of the cities. Based on how you manage your world you may become a highly influential and worshiped god or worse case scenario lose followers to rival gods.
Godus is built on the freemium model which allows users to download and play the game for free. Users have the option to purchase in game goods and upgrades to enhance game-play. For more information about Godus please visit the official website at http://www.22cans.com
