HONG KONG — UMeWorld Limited (OTCQB:UMEWF) is pleased to announce the launch of UMFun(TM) to coincide with the celebration of China’s National Day Holiday celebrations. This is a significant milestone in that the launch not only enables UMeWorld to participate in the nation’s booming educational industry, but it also validates the Company’s ability to commercialize a product from concept to market in a very short period of time.
The K-12 education system in China is the largest in the world, comprising 230 million students. UMFun(TM) is the only cloud based, patent pending, adaptive learning educational platform in the Chinese educational market. Unlike traditional online courseware, UMFun(TM) provides a concept-level assessment and evaluation of a student’s learning progress. It identifies the student’s strengths, weaknesses, their proficiency in a given subject area and personalizes the delivery of proprietary educational items according to the student’s learning needs.
The UMFun(TM) platform will initially target students in Grades 5 through 9, with a monthly subscription as low as CNY$75 (US$12). Registered users will have up to two months of free trial access to experience the benefits of UMFun’s adaptive learning technology.
As previously announced, one million (1,000,000) charge cards featuring UMFun(TM) will be distributed in the Guangdong province in conjunction with the launch. Other sales and marketing initiatives will be gradually implemented, the Company is targeting to capture 100,000 users between now and the end of 2013.
UMeWorld is on track to becoming a leading educational service provider in China. UMeWorld is also committed to becoming China’s largest provider and repository of e-portfolios for students.
The UMFun(TM) (formerly SmartStar) is the only cloud based, patent pending adaptive learning educational platform in China. The Platform name UMFun(TM) in the Chinese language means ‘Full Mark’. It is a cost effective, engaging and fun to use assessment and tutoring platform that can intelligently analyse and adapt to a student’s performance and personalises the delivery of proprietary educational items according to the student’s learning needs.
UMeWorld’s mission is to facilitate the interaction between people — “You” and “Me,” through its digital platforms. Currently, UMeWorld operates UMeLook (www.umelook.com), an online video platform focused on bringing foreign video content to China. UMeLook plans to be a source of foreign video content for the Chinese viewer across any Internet-enabled device in China. UMeWorld intends to focus its future operations on digital media and the digital education market.
