RALEIGH, NC. October 1, 2013 – Raleigh-based independent film company Every New Day Pictures and newly formed Brios Media Group announce the release of ‘Secrets in the Fall’, a faith-based family drama that is the second installment of the ‘Secrets’ films. The film will be available on DVD and digital download exclusively through Amazon and www.EveryNewDayPictures.com on October 22, 2013. Also producing the film are God Empowered® and Reveal Ministries.
‘Secrets in the Fall’ is the sequel to the January 2013 release ‘Secrets in the Snow’, also a faith-based family drama, about six students that become trapped in their high school during a blizzard the day before Christmas break. ‘Secrets in the Snow’ was featured in the 2013 Projecting Hope Film Festival in Charlotte, NC, and was one of top-selling films from Bridgestone Multimedia Group in 2013.
Continuing the adventure on a weekend youth retreat, ‘Secrets in the Fall’ brings back many of the returning cast as counselors that mentor younger campers. Camping, canoeing, capture the flag and campfire songs are just some of the highlights of the weekend. As perfect as this may sound, this story also involves heartache and turmoil. One of the campers goes missing early on in the trip, and it is up to their peers to band together in a search of the grounds before dark. Some new cast members include Kyle Kupecky (Christian singer, formerly of Anthem Lights), David Topp (‘The Box’, ‘The Shunning’), Andrew Wilson Williams (‘We Are Marshall’, ‘Season of Miracles’), Ryan Patrick Williams (‘Trouble with the Curve’), Audrey Easton and Catherine Allen.
Written and directed by Brittany Goodwin (co-owner of END Pictures), this inspirational film is appropriate for families and children of all ages. “It’s a new take on a camp film,” says Goodwin, “and the characters are growing in their faith and as people, yet they still struggle with new secrets and new challenges.” Some of these issues include bullying, wanting to be popular, and dealing with a family illness. Aside from the struggles, Goodwin also puts the campers in situations that help them grow and learn to respect each other. She says, “I always remember camp being a time where you learn a lot about yourself, and these characters certainly do that.”
Simoes, of Brios Media Group and former Sony Pictures film executive commented on the film, “I’m thrilled to be able to work with a young and talented team. Brittany has an incredible gift in developing characters and stories that are reverent and real to young audiences.” John Goodwin (END Pictures) added, “Paulo’s experience and insight brings great value to this project, not only on the distribution side but also in our marketing and distribution efforts.”
The DVD will also include a discussion guide to help guide conversations about topics discussed, and can be widely used by youth groups and ministries across the globe.
The film was shot at Camp Pinnacle, an active summer camp for teens in the mountain town of Hendersonville, NC, best known for being the site of the 1995 family comedy ‘Heavyweights’.
