Los Angeles, CA - With programs like WordPress, anyone can build a website these days, but building a website that will draw traffic and generate business is a different matter. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is what drives a page to the top of the search engine rankings.
“If your website is on the first page of Google’s search results, you’re in good shape. If you’re on Page 2, then your hit count and customer visits are going to be a fraction of what they could be,” said SEO expert Bruno Pisano of LaV1. “If your website is on Page 3 or further back, you might as well not even exist.”
Pisano specializes in the LA market and has helped hundreds of small business and website owners across the region to rise in the search engine ranks. They have seen their business grow as more customers see their website and choose to do business with them.
“The first thing you need to understand about SEO is what words are people using to find the business you run,” he said. “An SEO expert tracks SEO trends to make sure a website’s content has the right words and uses them the right number of times.”
He explained the business name is generally not a high-ranking SEO term.
“When people look for a plumber, for instance, they don’t type the name of a plumbing company into the search engine. They type ‘plumber’ and their neighborhood and the kind of work they need done,” he said. “The same process applies to all other businesses. Only the SEO terms change to fit that business.”
Word count is also important. An SEO expert, like Mr. Pisano, understands the problems with “key word stuffing” and how to avoid this.
“In the end, it’s your business. When you need work done at your business, you hire an expert. Your website is your business. You need to hire an expert to make sure your site is the best it can be,” he said.
