DBC is using the free ping4alerts! mobile app to reach golf spectators with exclusive content and to keep fans safe in the event of quickly moving weather events.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Deutsche Bank Championship, the second event of the FedExCup Playoffs, begins next Wednesday at TPC Boston. Beginning this year, tournament attendees will receive news, alerts, and multimedia updates about the tournament through a cutting edge mobile alerting system called ping4alerts!. This alerting system uses smartphone’s location services capabilities to deliver relevant and informative content based solely on the user’s location. Important event information, exclusive content, special deals, and even opportunities to win prizes will be delivered right to the hands of spectators throughout the tournament. Best of all, no personal information or opt-in is required – users just download and go.
Norm Archer, VP of Marketing for Ping4 Inc., said, “We are honored to be a part of such a storied tournament . We can’t wait for the spectators to see how their experience will be enhanced.”
Ping4alerts! has recently been adopted by a number of Massachusetts public safety agencies to notify citizens and visitors alike of events going on around them. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), the Town of Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and Worcester County are just a few of the Commonwealth’s communities to join the Ping4 Inc. family.
“Our goal with the Deutsche Bank Championship,” said Archer, “is to raise awareness about the free ping4alerts! app and to demonstrate its unique and powerful messaging capabilities in a fun, safe environment.”
