Jack Eadon is a Renaissance Man for our time. Given our recent recession, we need a way out. He’s the guy. Though the odds have been almost unbelievably stacked against him, like Rocky Balboa, Eadon continues to fight on. A brain tumor, five brain surgeries, and dysphagia (swallowing dysfunction) resulting from the last surgery have not stopped him. While fighting to regain his health, he has continued to serialize his The American Drama series of novels worldwide, cultivate a spirit of hope wherever he goes, and now launch his new website http://www.JackEadon.com before he begins a speaking tour to bring that Renaissance spirit to a wider audience.
Since his final surgery in 2010, Jack Eadon, author and cult rock band member, has fought a battle with dysphagia, that led to his recently participating in a groundbreaking swallowing boot camp at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, CA. Since then he has gone into what he terms “Rocky mode” to maximize the chances of recovery from dysphagia. A major part of that fight has been not letting his health disrupt his art, but rather inspire it. A true Renaissance Man, Eadon writes, photographs, cultivates a world of peace around him, and actively serializes and promotes his books, including launching his new website http://www.JackEadon.com. In short, he has mastered the art of life by making lemonade out of lemons.
Eadon’s new website celebrates this Renaissance mindset with an intranet of interlocking sites devoted to his music, photography, writing, a slide show tribute to his mentors, and a belief in peace. The site’s drama section promotes his novels, which he has been serializing chapter by chapter, beginning with the first book in his The American Drama Series, “HEAD TRIP,” and currently the second book, “A Consequence of Greed.” Monthly chapters are emailed to a worldwide audience of readers in Canada, France, the UK, Mexico, Singapore, and across the United States. The new website’s Eadonart portal offers twelve favorite images as canvas wraps. The “Rock” section reflects his years writing music and playing lead guitar for the ’70s cult rock band Khazad Doom, now recognized worldwide as one of the first purveyors of the concept album.
To follow Jack’s inspiring recovery efforts visit the website’s “peace” link, like hundreds of people worldwide recently did, including members of the National Foundation of swallowing disorders(NFOSD) and the Epidermoid Brain Tumor Society, during Jack’s two week Swallowing Boot Camp attendance at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California. Jack is now on a six-month mission from his doctor to “rebuild” himself, putting his whole body into recovery mode to aid swallowing and avoid more serious surgical swallowing interventions. He will be reassessed in October.
Finally, the new website has a Peace link that reflects Eadon’s message about life, that “Life is in the TRYING.” And his message is being disseminated. Jack recently heard from a woman in India that his website is “a huge motivator!” in helping her deal with her father’s own dysphagia situation. When Jack was at UC Davis for a swallowing test, he was recognized by a fellow patient who said, “You’re Jack Eadon, aren’t you? I was following you during the Scripps Hospital Swallowing Boot Camp. You don’t know what an inspiration you are to all of us!” Such a chance meeting was confirmation for Eadon that he is doing exactly what he should. “There’s a reason I always say, ‘Life is in the TRYING,’” says Eadon. “Specifically, trying is our experience of life. I choose to live my life of color as richly as I can, no matter what hand I’ve been dealt. That means trying a lot, and seeing a lot of color!”
Jack Eadon’s campaign to spread his message of hope—“Life is in the Trying”—has recently begun to catch fire as he’s done a series of TV interviews and will be speaking to groups and companies across the country about the value of trying and how your life or company can experience a real renaissance when you do, and as we leave economic woes behind.
