Spring, TX – Europeanbarging has a few select cabins available on this inaugural knitting cruise that will be hosted by acclaimed textile expert Barry Klein, owner of Trendsetter Yarns in Los Angeles. Recognized as one of the top 10 most influential men in the world of knitting, Barry is a past president of the National Needlework Association and has designed patterns for Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits, and Knitters Magazine, among many others. A prolific author, his books include The Ultimate Knitted Tee, Knitting with Novelty Yarns and The Knitters Template, all co-authored with Laura Militzer Bryant. Other claims to fame: Barry once knit for 36 hours straight, making sweaters for Wes Craven’s hit Hollywood film, Nightmare on Elm Street.

The cruise starts in Vilshofen and continues to Passau, Linz, Melk, Krems, Vienna, Bratislava and ending in Budapest. There is a 3 night cruise package to Prague. Lined with charming red-roofed villages, steeply terraced vineyards, picturesque churches and the crumbling ruins of medieval castles, the Danube River has captivated writers, musicians and artists throughout the centuries. Explore such legendary capitals as Prague, Vienna and Budapest, as well as remarkably preserved towns and villages that appear untouched by the passage of time. Along the way, you’ll see Europe’s largest pipe organ, savor the world-renowned wines of Austria’s Wachau Valley, indulge in sinfully rich sacher torte, and tour the 900-year-old Benedictine abbey that inspired the novel The Name of the Rose.
