Once again with the help of a veterinary surgeons Dr. Micheal Dill & Dr. James Church from Mississippi developed this concept and we made it into a instrument. The Quick Lock Cerclage Band were designed to replace traditional cerclage wires. The system is best used in the repair of long oblique or spiral fractures of long bones. This item was not intended for fixation of transverse fractures. The banding system will provide for faster application with fewer surgical implants, while achieving superior compressive force at the fracture site. The procedure to apply the device is simple , and bands are self retaining with no cumbersome twist knots. While cerclage bands will most often be employed to supplement intra-medullary pins, they can also be used with bone plates and interlocking nails.This new system will enhance healing by providing better internal support of the fracture.
