THE HAPPY RACERS Release Debut Ready Set Go, Contribute to New E-Book Series Go Go Greta, Narrated by Lisa Loeb.

Nashville, TN — Following the release of their debut album Ready Set Go, The Happy Racers were asked to create the theme song, “I Can Do Anything,” for the new e-book series Go Go Greta, which will be available starting this fall as an iPad app narrated by acclaimed folk/rock singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb.

The album, Ready Set Go, includes many songs that inspire kids to shake what their mamma gave them and celebrate their imagination. Several songs including “Lovabye Dragon,” “Hip Hooray Parade,” and “Old Robert’s Jig” have children’s books written that go with each song. Other tracks include: the reggae/rap inspired “Failure’s A Myth,” a cover of The Beatles’ “Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da,” “What In The World,” and the infectious “Move Your Body,” to name just a few.

Led by Nathan’s father, publisher Mark Meckel, they assembled a talented team of writers including Smithsonian Award winner Barbara Joosse, author of best-selling children’s book Mommy, Do You Love me? Also on board is longtime friend and Grammy nominated songwriter Burton Collins, and New York Times best-selling children’s author Peter Reynolds. With Nathan producing, he assembled his favorite studio musicians in Nashville, as well as his Grammy nominated mixer/engineer and brother-in-law, Mark Niemiec, to help craft the album. Ready Set Go is now available on iTunes.

The Happy Racers were created after writer/producer/singer/musician Nathan Meckel and his two children Sofia and Cohen playfully wrote the song “All My Friends,” over breakfast. Inspired by his children’s love for music and armed with over 20 years of industry experience, Nathan set out to create an alternative children’s album that would be loved by both kids and their parents alike.

Nathan Meckel has written and produced songs that have appeared on a wide range of networks including MTV, CBS, ABC, Sony, and Bravo on shows such as “The Real World,” and “The Simple Life,” and the feature film National Lampoon’s Cattle Call. Mark Meckel is a music business veteran, publisher of two songs on Grammy Award winning records including “All About Bullies, Big and Small”, which won the Grammy for Children’s album of the year. He has secured song placements with iconic artists such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Faith Hill, and Reba McEntire.
