Motivational Dancer and Author Set to Keynote Latino Youth Fest
Nationally renowned break-dancer, youth speaker and author Patrick “Pac Man” Perez is not a typical “motivational speaker.” By combining music and dance he shares a message of personal responsibility, choices and goal setting with thousands of youth across the country each year. This Thursday, October 25th , Patrick will bring his “Mad Skills for Student Success” program to the Cleveland Library’s Latino Youth Fest.
Since 2002 Patrick has dedicated his life towards providing youth with the “skills they want and advice they need.” Since then he has traveled to over 32 states and has been contracted by the National Guard Family and Youth Programs as well as several state health departments. His books “Bully Breakthrough” and “Mad Skills For Student Success” help teens with social survival skills dealing with alcohol, drugs, sex and peer pressure.
“My mission is to break through to youth so they can break through their challenges and break free form their excuses. I strive to fill in the gap between parents and their youth. This can be said for teens of any race and their parents…there is a cultural gap. I take the very things parents wish their teens focused on and, through my programs, I fill in the gap by helping students see how their choices affect their futures.”
Nicole di Pasquelle, past chair of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America’s national conference, said of Patrick, “[He] used dance to motivate the audience to express themselves as individuals and go ‘beyond labels. Patrick demonstrated the power of positive action through dance and empowered our members with a sense of self.”
Patrick will be available for in-studio and on-air interviews regarding teen success tips Thursday and Friday of this week. His books “Bully Breakthrough” and “Mad Skills For Student Success” are available on Amazon.com Please contact Patrick directly atpatrick@patrickperez.org to bring him on your show.
