Evidence-Based Research Firm Launching National Tour Offering Continuing Education Credits to Architects and Interior Designers

RAD Consultants’ CEO, Debra D. Harris, Ph.D., will lead a national tour of speaking engagements that includes continuing education units approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) for architects and interior designers. KI is sponsoring this series of engagements which will be held in Minneapolis, Baltimore, St Louis, Orlando and New York City.

“Healthcare design professionals are challenged to keep up to date on issues related to the design of healthcare facilities. KI believes that bringing in an expert to present on topics that are relevant to healthcare designers add value to their client base. For RAD Consultants, it is an excellent opportunity to bring the best available evidence to support practical application of design in healthcare environments,” according to Dr. Harris.

Interested persons can gather at each of these engagements with opportunities to ask questions and talk with Debra D. Harris, Ph.D. in person. Dr. Harris is an expert in evidence-based design and research related to facility performance and the impact of buildings on human occupants.

Dr. Harris continued, “RAD Consultants enjoys sharing knowledge with design professionals and healthcare professionals on topics which are important to them – sustainability, evidence-based design, infection prevention, and design for safety, just to name a few. We have invested our time and resources to develop continuing education seminars to meet the needs of the healthcare, and architecture and design communities.”

Dr. Harris has written over 40 peer reviewed and trade publications, books, and book chapters; and presented to thousands of industry professionals on issues significant to the quality of the indoor environment. In practice since 1985, Dr. Harris specializes in assimilating research into evidence-based strategies for facility design. Her research focuses on factors affecting user experience and outcomes, especially related to health, productivity, safety, and cost implications of the physical environment.
